My steam pockets are a little stained from all the stuff I've cleaned. It doesn't pose a problem for me. As long as they don't transfer dirt, ignore it.

*Mop Review*
I have two boys (ages 10 and 7) who are always running in and out of the house for something. And each time they come in they bring dirt with them. We don’t use our front door very often so they come in through the kitchen. My linoleum floor gets quite dirty. Not to mention all the spills, grease from cooking, dropped food, and the list goes on. I won't even go into the messes I get in the bathrooms from having boys. Let's just say, they don't always hit the toilet. I really hate to mopped. My mop is heavy, I have to fill up the sink with water and some type of cleaning product, dunk and squeeze out the excess water....you get the picture. It’s a chore. My mom has an older model of the Stark Steam Mop. I tried her’s one day and decided I wanted one for myself. Anything to make this chore easier is worth buying. So my search began to find the best deal out there. Well I think I found it in the Shark Steam Pocket mop.

The Shark Steam Pocket Mop has a lot of extras that previous models didn’t have.
It comes with:

3 different mop heads:
one Rectangle
one triangle
one XL rectangle

Just chose the one you want and snap it to the bottom of the unit. If you want to change mop heads during cleaning, just unplug the unit, wait a couple of minutes, unsnap the current mop head, and then snap on the other mop head.

4 different cleaning pads:
one steam duster pad, great for any type of flooring
one rectangle pad, all purpose pad, and the one I use most often
one triangle pad, wonderful for getting around and behind the toilets in the bathrooms (a downfall from previous Shark Steam Mop models...they couldn’t reach back there)
one XL rectangle pad, great for big open spaces

The great benefit of the pocket mop is that when one side of the pad is dirty, just flip attachment with the pad over and use the other side. All the cleaning pads are reusable. Just toss it in the washer, line dry or put in the dryer on the low setting and use it again.

Also included is a carpet glider. It doesn’t steam clean your carpet but it does freshen and deodorize your carpets, while capturing surface dirt. Great for area rugs and carpeted entry mats. It is wonderful if you have pets. It cuts through those pets smells quickly and easily.

The Shark Steam Pocket Mop works awesome on my floors. I mentioned that I have linoleum in my kitchen. It has deep grooves in it which allows dirt to hide and settle into. Even after I clean with a regular mop I have to get down on my hands and knees to clean the dirt out of the grooves. With the Shark Steam Pocket Mop I no longer have to do that. The Shark Steam Pocket Mop picks up all that dirt in a few simple back and forth movements. And without using any chemicals. And you know what that means, no leftover chemical residue on the floors either. It’s great for the environment and my family. Both my oldest son and I suffer from asthma. I worry about the amount of chemicals we are exposed too daily. With the Shark Steam Pocket Mop I have a gained a little piece of mind.

It is easy to use. Make sure you sweep your floor (just as you would before you use your regular mop). Chose you mop head, snap on your pad, add water (measuring cup included), plug is it and wait 30 seconds for the water to heat up. You will hear the mop as it heats the water. Just pump the handle a few time to get the steam going and then push forward and backward. As you push the mop forward, you will be pumping the handle for continued steam cleaning action. The mop heads all swivel 180 degrees to reach corners and other tight and hard to reach places. The handle is adjustable to make the mop either shorter or taller for better comfort for all who use it. The power cord is 30' long and the water tank holds enough water that I was able to clean my kitchen, entry way, 2 bathrooms, and the small carpet square (entry mat) we have by the front door.

The Shark Steam Pocket Mop safe to use on all sealed hard floor surfaces. . And to be honest, I have used it on my kitchen table and kitchen counters. It’s sort of awkward to handle doing that, but it worked just as well on those surfaces as it did the floors. Best of all, the floors and other surfaces were dry within seconds. No more telling my kids, “stay out of the kitchen the floor is wet.”

I bought this unit at Costco. I had a coupon for $15 off, so it cost me $79.99 plus tax. My mom told me she paid that much for the one she bought about a year ago....and it didn't have all the extras and you can only use one side of the pad. I think she was a little jealous.

One word of caution. Remember you are working with steam. It can burn you if take a pad off too soon, get your face too close to the steam (example, you are cleaning the floors with a crawling baby that is VERY close by), or open the water tank when the water is still very hot. So be careful.
